How to Visit
Fort Whoop-Up is pleased to welcome back visitors at a reduced capacity of ten visitors at a time in accordance with guidelines from the provincial government. All visitors will be toured through the fort as a group. Guided tours of the fort start promptly at the time booked, we ask that you arrive fifteen minutes early to ensure that the whole group is present by the time the tour is ready to start. Admission includes a wagon ride through the river valley which you hop on after your guided tour through the fort.
Admission to the fort is $10 per visitor during this time, but we are still offering free admission for annual pass holders. If you are bringing four or more of your immediate family members it is cheaper to get an annual pass and then get your tickets. You can call us at 403.320.3777 and let us know when you will be arriving and we will set those spots aside for you.
Visitors are asked to please follow this code of conduct:
Do not visit Fort Whoop-Up if you are feeling unwell;
Please follow physical distancing protocols (2 meters/6 feet) between visitors (with the exception of immediate family members residing in the same household);
Please stay together with your group as you move through the fort;
Please wash your hands or use hand sanitizer throughout the facility;
Please obey posted directional signage to prevent congestion;
Please ask for assistance to make a shop purchase;
Please use non-cash payment types;
Please limit personal belongings brought into the fort;
Please wear a non-medical mask or face covering, in accordance with the directions of the City of Lethbridge.
Cleaning and Personal Safety
Washrooms have frequent sanitation and are restricted to 2 individuals at a time;
Public spaces, displays and seating are cleaned at regular intervals;
Please provide feedback to staff on how we can better serve you during this time.
The staff at the Fort Whoop-Up continue to monitor their own health on a daily basis. Should a member of the staff exhibit any symptoms or be in contact with anyone who is showing symptoms related to COVID-19 they will immediately self-isolate for 14 days and alert health care professionals.
